Ok .. so i’m dying to buy the p90 and then the p90x,, but theres one question i can’t find is this mainly for men? i mean i love how its not scammish it tells you you know what you want to look good there’s not a 10 min thing you can do you get your lazy butt up and do this . you know i love that . but i’m scared about getting beefy like a male should. i’m not going to lie im not danty flower girl i’m 6 foot and i lifted weight when i was in school for my sports but after school i got on to some medications and which made me gain almost 50 pounds and i would like to be tones again without being beefy and i’m scared my arms will expode back up again, i really would just like a nice toned body. is this right for me?

    Hi Emily,

No, it’s DEFINITELY just not for guys. I love it when I get before and after photos from the ladies, and I post them here at the blog.

Don’t worry about getting bulky. I’m yet to ever meet a woman who got bulky from p90 or p90x. Just take a look a Michelle’s before and after photos(I posted those in the blog 2 or 3 posts ago).

I gained some size because I was lifting extremely heavy with the program, doing low reps, and eating like a horse…well over the required food levels.

I was down to 175 by around day 45. I THEN started to do the things above and tacked on about 10 pounds of muscle in the last 45 days(finished the program around 185).

Go to the www.dennishardy.com/order.htm page and get your free Million Dollar Body account, then login to the million dollar store and take a peek at both the p90 and “Slim in 6″ workout programs. Either would be a perfect starting point. My wife is doing SI6 right now and loves it.

Let me know if you have questions.

    Dennis

My husband wants to try the P90X program but I feel it may be too extreme for us to start with. We are both athletic and want to tone up. Should we go for it or try the P90 first?

    Sincerely,
    Amanda D.

  4. admin says:

    Hey Amanda,

There is a fit test on p90x.com that you can download and take. If you guys have trouble with the fit test, p90 is an excellent place to start.

Both p90x and p90 are available in the Team Beachbody store . You can order at www.dennishardy.com/order.htm

  12. Ray says:

During your 1st week or should I said 1st DVD (chest & shoulders) how did you pace yourself? I guess my question is did you try to keep up with Tony and his crew or did you set a personal pushup and pullup goal for yourself? I was hard to keep up with them especially when Tony said we’re going a 2nd time around.

  13. Jack says:

I am on day two and to my surprise for the most part I could keep up but the ab ripper killed me and I am thin. I am 47 and in pretty good shape and I can not wait to see the results a week in a half from now. Jack

I just finished p90x and want to do it again. Do i follow the same Phase 1 then 2 then 3 again? Phase 1 and 3 are the same thing anyway right?

Or do I do it again by doing Phase 2 then 1 then back to 2 again?

    Please help.

Hi,I’m 40yrs old in fairly good shape but was diagnosed with osteoarthritis on my left knee. I really want to order the p90x but I’m really concern that I won’t be able to perform most of the exercises especially the plyometrics because of my condition.

  16. Diego says:

i’m a 25 yr old man.. Thinking about trying p90x, but, i’m concerned about getting too skinny on the program. As I only weigh 155 at 5″8, and limiting my calorie intake to the extent they suggest I believe will make me smaller and skinnier… I’m at the point where I want to gain weight and I want to lose weight as well..

  19. Rob says:

Hi, I did P90X - finished last week actually. (I put up my results and opinions in a P90X review here). There seems to be a lot of questions about P90X and weight changes. People who are skinny want to know if they’ll shrink into oblivion and weight lifters want to know if they can bulk up.

P90X is meant to build lean muscle, and my belief is that it leads people towards a happy medium. People huge may slim down a little because of additional cardio and the dieting, but skinny folk can also gain muscle tone.

At the end of the day, I think the goal is a fit body, and P90X can indeed get you there if you follow the program. For slim guys looking to bulk up, I would start the nutrition plan exactly as written, but be conscientious about adding calories down the road as you get more intense. Focus on the number of reps to build additional muscle. When you’re done, you may not be ultra beefy, but you will be stronger and in a better position if you really want to look like Arnold Schwarzeneggar (sp?) some day. The fact is, P90X will always be 90 days well spent now matter what your starting body type.
